Katlego Ntuli on his wheelchair

The Social Development and Community Services Department donated a wheelchair to 19-year-old Katlego Ntuli, living with cerebral palsy on 18 July 2022, Mandela Day, which also happened to be his birthday.

Cllr Peggy de Bruin, MMC for Social Development and Community Services said this forms part of their efforts to do good and bring about positive change in honour of Mandela Day.

“This donation was extra special because Ntuli, who hails from Mabopane shares his birthday with the former President, Tata Nelson Mandela. So today we got to celebrate this brave young man’s birthday,” she said.

Ms De Bruin said the department was approached by Ntuli’s family who indicated that the young man is an orphan and has outgrown his old wheelchair. The new wheelchair is a suitable match for his body posture as he grows into adulthood.
